At the Golden Globes on Sunday, speculation was rife about whether Zendaya and Tom Holland are engaged. The buzz began when the 28-year-old actress was seen wearing a diamond ring on her left hand. Inside the Beverly Hilton ballroom, Zendaya, star of “Challengers,” was spotted showing the ring to friends, including Ayo Edebiri from “The Bear.”

According to TMZ, Holland proposed to Zendaya over the holidays in an intimate setting at one of her homes. The “Spider-Man” co-stars have been together since at least 2021. People magazine later confirmed their engagement.

Zendaya was adorned in Bulgari jewelry at the Globes, but there was no mention of the ring on her left hand in the press release. People magazine reported that the ring appears to be a Jessica McCormack diamond, listed in the engagement rings section of the designer’s website. If the ring is the one speculated about online, it is a 5.02-carat Georgian-style cut in 18k white-and-yellow gold.

Los Angeles Times reporter Amy Kaufman, who is also recently engaged, had an interesting interaction with Zendaya at the Globes. Kaufman wrote, “As Zendaya exited the ballroom, a recently engaged Times reporter held up her left ring finger and pointed at it. The actor responded by flashing her own bling on her left hand, doing a sort of jazz-fingers motion.” When asked if she was engaged, Zendaya “smiled coyly and shrugged her shoulders mysteriously.”

Despite their relationship, Zendaya and Holland do not attend red carpet events together unless related to their movies, which explains Holland’s absence on Sunday night. Holland recently told Men’s Health, “It’s not my moment, it’s her moment, and if we go together, it’s about us.”

Neither Zendaya nor Holland has made a public statement about their engagement. A representative for Holland did not respond to request for comment.
